Basketball Game Preview: New York Military Academy Knights vs. King Vikings

The New York Military Academy Knights will head out on the road to square off against the King Vikings at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Wednesday, New York Military Academy came up short against Storm King and fell 50-43. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, King had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They skirted past the Wildcats 55-52. The 55-point effort marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

King's win came from a few key players New York Military Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jonovan Bracey, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Aj Trimboli was another key player, going 6 for 12 en route to 16 points and seven assists.

King's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for New York Military Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

New York Military Academy might still be hurting after the 61-35 loss they got from King when the teams last played back in February of 2015. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point New York Military Academy was down 61-35.
