Lyons-Decatur Northeast suffers sixth straight loss on the road

The Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. The contest between Lyons-Decatur Northeast and Madison wasn't particularly close, with Lyons-Decatur Northeast falling 39-22. Lyons-Decatur Northeast found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 12 to 5 on offense.

Despite the defeat, Lyons-Decatur Northeast had strong showings from Tavyanna Parker, who scored six points along with seven rebounds, and Bailey Tuttle, who scored four points along with three steals.

Salena Duinkerken was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds for Madison. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Duinkerken has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lexi Jackson, who scored nine points along with two steals.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.3 points per game. As for Madison, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast will head out on the road to take on Bancroft-Rosalie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bancroft-Rosalie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lyons-Decatur Northeast in Nebraska (Bancroft-Rosalie is ranked 83rd, while Lyons-Decatur Northeast is ranked 262nd). As for Madison, they will square off against North Bend Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
