Softball Recap: Liberty Triumphs

Liberty won the last time they faced Bishop Gorman and things went their way on Friday too. The Patriots narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Gaels 5-3.

Liberty's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Danielle Luvanos, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Luvanos a new career-high.

Liberty hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

The win got Liberty back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Liberty is set to square off against their familiar foe Palo Verde at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman will take on rival Arbor View at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
