Softball Recap: Fort Edward Takes a Loss

Fort Edward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Warrensburg Burgers. Even if the Flying Forts couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Felicity Columbetti and Mackenzie Keeley did some serious damage despite the final result: Columbetti got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI, while Keeley went 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Rue Quarters, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Fort Edward's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Warrensburg, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

As of now, neither Fort Edward nor the Burgers have any future games scheduled.
