Softball Recap: Weed Comes Up Short

Weed came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Portola Tigers, falling 16-1. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2018.

Weed's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Portola, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2-1 record this season.

Weed will square off against Trinity at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Portola, they have already played their next match, a 14-2 defeat against St. Bernard's on the 21st.
