Baseball Recap: Columbian Takes a Loss

Columbian suffered their biggest defeat since April 3rd on Monday. They lost 8-2 to the Calvert Senecas. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tornadoes of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Columbian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayce Arias, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Columbian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Calvert, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 23-3.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Columbian will square off against Lexington at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calvert, they will challenge Old Fort at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
