Basketball Recap: Dunellen Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Dunellen ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Kennedy Memorial Mustangs, sneaking past 35-32. The win was some much needed relief for the Destroyers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Sophie Jimenez was the offensive standout of the match as she almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. Rose Ciccolella was another key player, putting up eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

Dunellen's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Kennedy Memorial, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Dunellen won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Koinonia Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kennedy Memorial, they will venture away from home to square off against Sayreville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
