Recap: Smithville Seminoles vs. Falkner Eagles
The Smithville Seminoles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell to Falkner 49-44.
Several Seminoles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mary Haley Hood, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds. The contest was Hood's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Wall, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals.
Smithville now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Falkner, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smithville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Houlka at 6:00 p.m. on November 21st. Houlka is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Falkner, they will head out on the road to face off against Thrasher on Tuesday.
