Basketball Game Preview: JW North Huskies vs. Valley View Eagles

The JW North Huskies will head out on the road to challenge the Valley View Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. JW North will be strutting in after a win while Valley View will be coming in after a defeat.

JW North not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since January 11, 2025 (when they won 72-44). They were the clear victors by a 67-41 margin over Perris. The Huskies didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Meanwhile, Valley View suffered their closest loss since December 9, 2025 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Hemet by a score of 56-53. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 18-9 in the first quarter.

JW North will have to contain Tristin Reliford as he made an impact in Valley View's last game. He almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. Reliford also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Valley View is 7-2 when he posts at least three steals, but 5-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Davion Moore, who shot 50% from the field en route to 10 points and five assists.

Valley View has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. As for JW North, their win bumped their record up to 5-17.

JW North couldn't quite get it done against Valley View in their previous meeting two weeks ago as they fell 59-52. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
