Volleyball Recap: Edison Tigers vs. Sanger West Hornets
If Edison was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Madera on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers fell just short of the Sanger West Hornets by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 2-1.
Edison took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 24-26, 25-21, 15-12.
Jayden Vang was nothing short of spectacular for Sanger West: he had 13 digs and three aces. Those 13 digs gave Vang a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maximus Inboon, who had 15 digs and one assist.
Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Sanger West, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season.
Edison and Sanger West will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Tigers see the court they'll take on Justin Garza at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Sanger West, their break will end when they face Madera at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
