Soccer Game Preview: Redwood vs. Porterville

The Redwood Rangers are taking a road trip to take on the Porterville Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Redwood saw some tournament action on Friday. They and Highland finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Porterville earned a 3-1 victory over Tulare Western last Friday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Mustangs are ranked 525th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Porterville and bumps their season record up to 11-1-1. With that draw, Redwood's record moves to 5-4-6.

Redwood came up short against Porterville in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Redwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
