Recap: Northgate Broncos vs. Benicia Panthers
After a string of four wins, the Northgate Broncos's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 67-60 to Benicia. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was David Harris, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Boustead, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Benicia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brandon Earl, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Earl has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Marcus Barron, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Northgate's loss dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Benicia, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 18-9.
Northgate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Benicia, they will square off against Ygnacio Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ygnacio Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 matchups -- so hopefully Benicia likes a good challenge.
