Softball Recap: Zephyrhills Takes a Loss

Zephyrhills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Nature Coast Tech Sharks, falling 14-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 back in February.

Rylee Moss made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases. Melanie Moreno also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Zephyrhills' loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Nature Coast Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zephyrhills will venture away from home to face off against Hernando at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Nature Coast Tech, they will head out to square off against Springstead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Springstead will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Nature Coast Tech surely won't give up without a fight.
