Softball Game Preview: Caldwell Hornets vs. Bellville Brahmas

The Caldwell Hornets will head out to square off against the Bellville Brahmas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Caldwell lost 7-1 to Bellville on Tuesday. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Bellville's part, Ella Burnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. That's the most strikeouts Burnett has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Makayla De La O was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Bellville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-1.
