Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Claymont's Fourth in Last Five Outings

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Claymont ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Fairless Falcons by a score of 6-2. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ethan Fair was excellent, earning two runs and two stolen bases. Claymont is undefeated when Fair posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brady Fox, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Claymont is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Fairless, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Claymont will head out to square off against Sandy Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairless, they will welcome East Canton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
