Basketball Game Preview: Great Bridge Wildcats vs. Oscar Smith Tigers

Great Bridge hasn't had much luck against Oscar Smith recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Great Bridge Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Oscar Smith Tigers at 7:30 p.m.

On Monday, Great Bridge was beaten by King's Fork 111-33. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, Oscar Smith waltzed into their contest on Monday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Grizzlies 80-44. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Oscar Smith pushed their record up to 21-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.7 points. As for Great Bridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-19.

Great Bridge was taken down by Oscar Smith 111-29 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Great Bridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
