Football Recap: Northeast Sets Scoring Season-High Against High School of the Future

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Northeast had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They put the hurt on the High School of the Future Firebirds with a sharp 35-14 win. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jeremiah Tellus and Ameer Miller. Tellus rushed for 66 yards and two scores while Miller rushed for 34 yards and a pair of TDs. That's the most rushing yards Tellus has posted since back in August.

The victory (which was Northeast's third in a row) raised their record to 4-6. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.7 points on average over those games. As for High School of the Future, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Northeast will square off against Abraham Lincoln at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Railsplitters' defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so the Vikings' offense will have their work cut out for them. High School of the Future does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
