Basketball Game Preview: Bremen Braves vs. Lemont Lemont HS

Bremen hasn't had much luck against Lemont recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bremen Braves will take on the Lemont Lemont HS at 6:30 p.m.

Bremen is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 71-51 to Hillcrest. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while the Hawks are ranked 102nd).

Meanwhile, Lemont entered their tilt with Oak Forest on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Bengals 73-26. The Lemont HS have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Lemont has also been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Bremen, their loss dropped their record down to 10-17.

Things could have been worse for Bremen, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-47 loss to Lemont in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Bremen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
