Basketball Game Preview: Buford Yellow Jackets vs. Chester Cyclones

Buford hasn't had much luck against Chester recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Buford Yellow Jackets will venture away from home to face off against the Chester Cyclones at 7:30 p.m. Buford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.

On Monday, Buford needed a bit of extra time to put away Richard Winn Academy. They managed a 55-51 victory over the Eagles.

Buford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gage McManus, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave McManus a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Milhorn, who posted 15 points and seven assists.

Meanwhile, Chester was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 70-65 to Ware Shoals.

The win got Buford back to even at 2-2. As for Chester, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Buford lost to Chester on the road by a decisive 73-55 margin when the teams last played on Friday. Can Buford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
