Softball Recap: Durfee Comes Up Short

Durfee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Seekonk Warriors, falling 16-4. The Hilltoppers were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Durfee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julia Rumsey, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Abigail Coutu also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Durfee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Seekonk, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Durfee will head out to face off against Canton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seekonk, they will welcome West Bridgewater at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest will give the Warriors their first taste of in-conference action this season.
