Recap: Fullerton Indians vs. University Trojans
The Fullerton Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 79-78 to University. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Fullerton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jeremy Guillen, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Edwards, who scored 13 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
University's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andrew Bogard led the charge by scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The contest was Bogard's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Christian Debarge was another key contributor, scoring 26 points along with five steals.
Fullerton has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for University, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.
Fullerton will be playing in front of their home fans against Sunny Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sunny Hills presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fullerton in California (Sunny Hills is ranked 225th, while Fullerton is ranked 652nd). As for University, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Northwood will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
