Baseball Recap: Boys Latin Has No Trouble Against Indian Creek

Boys Latin won the last time they faced Indian Creek and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Lakers were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Lakers, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

PJ Martino was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jonah Stockton was incredible, firing off three triples, three runs, and one RBI while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Elijah Cobb was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Boys Latin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Boys Latin's record now sits at 12-5. As for Indian Creek, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boys Latin will challenge St. Paul's at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Indian Creek, they will take on Glenelg Country at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
