Basketball Recap: Canton Gets the Win

Canton waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They escaped with a win against the Episcopal Knights by the margin of a single free throw, 39-38. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Knights are ranked 457th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Canton is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Episcopal, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Canton has already played their next game, a 48-30 win against Marlin on the 26th. As for Episcopal, they will face off against Bishop Lynch at 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
