Softball Recap: Helena Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Helena got themselves on the board against Flathead on Friday, but Flathead never followed suit. They came out on top against the Braves/Bravettes by a score of 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Bengals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Faith Howard, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Flathead off the board. Howard has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than 14 strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Kamryn Klemp was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

The win (which was Helena's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average this season. As for Flathead, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Helena has already played their next match, a 4-3 win against Glacier on the 4th. As for Flathead, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 19-9 loss against Capital on the 4th.
