Baseball Recap: Mountain View Wins Going Away Against Bonneville

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Enterprise, Mountain View was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Bonneville Lakers with a sharp 12-0 victory. The Bruins' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Logan Olsen tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Caden Imes and Ethan Jackson did most of the damage at the plate: Imes got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Jackson scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Jackson a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Dirk Ford, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Mountain View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bonneville only posted an OBP of .176.

Mountain View's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Bonneville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View will square off against Hunter at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bonneville, they will take on Kearns at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bonneville has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
