Basketball Recap: West Clermont Victorious

West Clermont hadn't done well against Turpin recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The West Clermont Wolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 victory over the Turpin Spartans. While the Wolves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

West Clermont's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Turpin, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

West Clermont will be home for the holidays to greet Lebanon at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. West Clermont knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Lebanon likes a good challenge. As for Turpin, they are taking a road trip to square off against Walnut Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
