Basketball Recap: Hamilton Heights Victorious

Hamilton Heights won the last time they faced Indianapolis Bishop Chatard and Riley Suarez did her part to make sure it happened again. The Huskies came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 80-67 on Thursday thanks in part to Suarez, who shot 71% from the field en route to 28 points in addition to five boards and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hamilton Heights' points.

Another player making a difference was Addison Blum, who posted 13 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Berzai, who went 8-for-9 to rack up 17 points and five assists. Berzai is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Gianna Morelli was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Hamilton Heights now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hamilton Heights will venture away from home to challenge Danville at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, they will head out to face off against Rushville at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
