Softball Game Preview: Gloucester Catholic Rams vs. West Deptford Eagles

The Gloucester Catholic Rams will venture away from home to face off against the West Deptford Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Monday, Gloucester Catholic came up short against Pitman and fell 7-2. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for West Deptford's offense. They fell just short of Gloucester City by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The game marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Jordyn Ambrosius spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

Gloucester Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for West Deptford, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5-1.

Gloucester Catholic might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from West Deptford in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
