Baseball Recap: Newton Eagles vs. Richland County Tigers
Newton not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21st. They blew past the Richland County Tigers 9-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three games in a row.
Carson Barthelme spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Newton's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 4-1 (and 3-8 when he doesn't).
