Baseball Recap: Sylacauga Comes Up Short

Sylacauga lost against Thorsby back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Sylacauga fell just short of Thorsby by a score of 4-3.

Sylacauga saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Judson Howell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Sylacauga has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. Thorsby pushed their record up to 19-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Sylacauga will take on Ashville at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Thorsby, they will face off against Cherokee County at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
