Madison is a perfect 10-0 against Mitchell since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Patriots will be playing at home against the Mountaineers at 5:00 p.m. Madison is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Madison took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against Tuscola by a score of 9-6. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Madison let Whitney Hensley and Rylee Plemmons run wild. Hensley went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Plemmons went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave Hensley a new career-high. Paige Peek was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
Madison was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Mitchell and Mountain Heritage, and Mountain Heritage kept the tradition alive. The Mountaineers fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 18-16 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (13), the Mountaineers still had to take the loss.
Mitchell also got a good showing from Addison Hobson, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off seven hits. Hobson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Gracie English stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zaiden Ayers, who went 1-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Madison, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Mitchell's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Madison has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Mitchell, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given Madison's sizable advantage in that area, the Mountaineers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Madison got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Mitchell by a conclusive 14-0 score. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Mountaineers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
