Baseball Recap: Suwannee Falls Short of West Florida in the Playoffs

Suwannee and West Florida squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Suwannee had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 9-8. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Jaguars earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Hampton Newman was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. G Garcia was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Suwannee's defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-8. As for West Florida, their record now sits at 25-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Suwannee beat the Jaguars by a score of 7-0 on Thursday.
