Volleyball Recap: Maloney Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Maloney won the last time they faced New Britain and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Spartans blew past the Golden Hurricanes 3-0. The win was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won six matches in a row.

Maloney walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-17, 25-21, 25-11.

Abdiel Cividanes was the offensive standout of the game as he had 12 digs and two aces. That's the most digs he has posted over his last seven contests. Derek Morgan also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Maloney was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in seven consecutive matches.

Maloney's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. As for New Britain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Coming up, Maloney will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Newington at 6:00 p.m. The Nor'easters will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. New Britain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
