Volleyball Game Preview: Centereach Cougars vs. Smithtown East Bulls

Centereach hasn't had much luck against Smithtown East recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulls at 4:15 p.m.

Last Friday, Centereach came up short against Hauppauge and fell 3-1. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-21 in the first set.

Centereach started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Smithtown East got the win against Eastport-South Manor on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-14, 25-18.

Centereach's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Smithtown East, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4-5 record this season.
