            Football Recap: Maiden Blue Devils vs. Bandys Trojans        
        
		
        
        
            Maiden won the last time they faced Bandys and  Shannon Wingate did his part to make sure it happened again. The Blue Devils came out on top against the Trojans by a score of  41-34  on Friday with plenty of help from  Wingate, who rushed for 251 yards and two  TDs while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards.

 On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Maiden's defensive line and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Shannon Blake and  Brandon Head, who racked up all six sacks between them. Blake also set a new season-high mark in  total tackles with 15.
 Despite the loss, Bandys still got an impressive performance from   Kayden Henrickson, who picked up 141 receiving yards and three  scores.  Brady Swett also helped out by tossing the rock for 282 yards.
Maiden is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 38.8 points over those games. As for Bandys, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
 Maiden has already played their next game,  a  35-21  loss against East Lincoln on the 24th. As for Bandys, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  36-32  win against West Iredell on the 24th.
