Basketball Recap: Hadley Luzerne Eagles vs. Fort Ann Cardinals
Hadley Luzerne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 79-51 defeat at the hands of the Fort Ann Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered against the Cardinals since January 20, 2017.
Fort Ann was led to victory by Javier Hernandez and Kadyence Cutter. Hernandez shot 5-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten assists, while Cutter went 9 for 10 en route to 20 points in addition to eight boards and four blocks. Cutter has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Charpentier, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points and seven assists.
Hadley Luzerne's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Fort Ann, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Hadley Luzerne will venture away from home to challenge Whitehall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitehall knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Hadley Luzerne likes a good challenge. As for Fort Ann, they will host Lake George at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
