It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Norco had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Santiago Sharks a 2-0 shutout. Give the Cougars' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Abraham Garcia was the driving force of Norco's attack as he scored both of Norco's goals, bringing his season total up to 15 goals.

Norco's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Santiago, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Looking ahead, Norco will square off against Calabasas at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Santiago does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
