Basketball Recap: Ballston Spa Victorious

Ballston Spa won the last time they faced Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, and Aubrey Kramer did her part to make sure it happened again. The Ballston Spa Scotties walked away with a 52-40 victory over the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans on Thursday thanks in part to Kramer, who went 8 of 17 on her way to 20 points and seven steals. Kramer is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Caleigh Richards, who posted nine points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taniyah Monforte, who had 15 points and four steals. That was a full 37.5% of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Ballston Spa's record is now 5-1. As for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Ballston Spa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-41 win against Lafayette on the 27th. As for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-49 loss against Mohonasen on the 27th.
