Softball Game Preview: Commerce Raiders vs. Springfield Renaissance

Commerce has gone 9-1 against Springfield Renaissance recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against Springfield Renaissance at 2:00 p.m. Commerce is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Commerce came up short against Mahar Regional and fell 9-5.

Zamarie Santiago made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Springfield Renaissance lost 31-11 to Mahar Regional on Wednesday.

Springfield Renaissance saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Pe?a, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Allana Jenney was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Springfield Renaissance's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Commerce, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Commerce has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Springfield Renaissance struggles in that department as they've been averaging 14.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
