It was a good run, but Mena unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Pottsville Apaches by a score of 2-0. Considering the last time the Bearcats couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Mena's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-3. As for Pottsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mena is set to take on their familiar foe Waldron at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pottsville will face off against rival Clarksville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Apaches' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Panthers have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
