Basketball Recap: Kaylee Camacho's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Providence Catholic over St. Augustine

Providence Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 43rd straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the St. Augustine Knights, falling 55-33. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Provets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-40 last Saturday.

Providence Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kaylee Camacho, who posted nine points and five boards. Sophia Navarijo was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Providence Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Providence Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-26. As for St. Augustine, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.

Providence Catholic will host St. Joseph at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Augustine, they will take on St. Joseph Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Joseph Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something St. Augustine surely won't give up without a fight.
