Northwest Cabarrus fell victim to Central Cabarrus and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Northwest Cabarrus saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Hatley, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Hatley hit this season.

Meanwhile, A.L. Brown also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to South Iredell by a score of 10-5.

Madeline Cook was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. MaKaela Frederick was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Northwest Cabarrus' defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for A.L. Brown, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3-1.

A.L. Brown's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Northwest Cabarrus has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for A.L. Brown, though, as they've been averaging 9.4 hits. Given Northwest Cabarrus' sizable advantage in that area, A.L. Brown will need to find a way to close that gap.
