Soccer Game Preview: Brookville vs. Liberty Christian

Brookville is 0-10 against Liberty Christian since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bees will head out to challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Brookville has given up an average of 2.6 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Brookville is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Jefferson Forest last Friday. They came up short against the Cavaliers, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Brookville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Jefferson Forest are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, Liberty Christian strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their defense stepped up to hand Appomattox County a 9-0 shutout. Fans of Liberty Christian have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

Liberty Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those three contests. As for Brookville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1.

Brookville might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from Liberty Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Bees avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
