Basketball Recap: Port Barre Takes a Loss

Port Barre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 57-16 loss at the hands of the Opelousas Catholic Vikings. The Red Devils lost against the Vikings in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 44-38 score last time.

Port Barre's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Opelousas Catholic, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Port Barre won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Central Private at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils will need to watch out since the Redhawks have now posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. As for Opelousas Catholic, they will face off against Catholic - N.I. at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
