Football Recap: Boulder Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Boulder extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were dealt a 63-6 loss at the hands of the Monarch Coyotes. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Coyotes from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

As for Monarch, their record now sits at 4-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Abbott Lockwood and Malakhi Payne. Lockwood rushed for 203 yards and a pair of TDs while Payne rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Lockwood's longest rush was for an incredible 94 yards.

Looking ahead, Boulder will take on Lakewood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 45.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Monarch, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Loveland at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
