Softball Recap: Russell County Comes Up Short

If Russell County was riding high fresh off their 19-3 takedown of Loachapoka last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Russell County Warriors lost 17-7 to the Carroll Eagles on Thursday.

Ryleigh Howard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-3. Tenley Cotarelo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Russell County's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Carroll, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Russell County will welcome Opelika at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up.
