Valley has gone a perfect 4-0 against Artesia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Valley Vikings will take on the Artesia Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. Valley will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They snuck past Lovington with a 52-48 victory.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Artesia). They claimed a resounding 91-57 win over Gallup. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Bengals are ranked 67th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Artesia is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points over those games. Valley now has a winning record of 15-14.

Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Artesia in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 50-46 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
