Volleyball Recap: Northside Christian Comes Up Short

Northside Christian and Madison Christian squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Northside Christian had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. Surprisingly, this marked the Lions' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Northside Christian actually scored more points across those five sets (99-91), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-17, 25-18, 11-25, 16-14.

Karis Vanderwarker paced Northside Christian's offense, picking up 18 kills. Vanderwarker got some help from Lexi Baker and her 40 assists. Vanderwarker also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lillian Cook, each putting up three.

Northside Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-5 record this season. As for Madison Christian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-4.

Northside Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Madison Christian, they will take on Shekinah Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
