Volleyball Recap: Dixie Takes a Loss

After flying high against Carbon on Friday, Dixie came back down to earth. The Flyers fell 3-1 to the Clearfield Falcons on Friday.

Despite the loss, Dixie saw an underclassman step up: sophomore MJ Mauinatu had 37 assists and four digs. Mauinatu is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Jaselle Mills was another key player, getting 16 digs.

Erin Lowry was the offensive standout of the match as she had 11 digs and three assists.

Dixie's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Clearfield, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Dixie wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Ogden on the 20th. As for Clearfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Delta on the 20th.
