Baseball Recap: Wyomissing Has No Trouble Against Schuylkill Valley

Wyomissing won the last time they faced Schuylkill Valley and things went their way on Wednesday too. Wyomissing put the hurt on Schuylkill Valley with a sharp 9-3 win.

Noah Rauenzahn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Ryan Graham and Parker LaFerriere did most of the damage at the plate: Graham scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-5, while LaFerriere scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave LaFerriere a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniel Noey, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Wyomissing kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Schuylkill Valley only managed four hits.

Wyomissing now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Schuylkill Valley, their record is now 1-5.

Wyomissing wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-3 victory against Blue Mountain on the 29th. As for Schuylkill Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against Pequea Valley on the 28th.
